I enjoyed art and crafts at school but didn't take the subjects further until I'd had my children. I enrolled at evening classes and learned how to engrave glass, decorate cakes, make mosaics and pottery. I then continued with part-time courses in pastel portraits, life drawing and painting in a variety of mediums. I enjoy watching demonstrations and find them very useful for furthering my own work.
I spent many years working at a local school where I became heavily involved with teaching art to the younger pupils.
I have now ventured into the world of pet portraiture and have been busy with several commissions, some of which can be seen here.
I enjoy experimenting with different mediums and find that after finishing a detailed drawing I like nothing better than to play around with looser mixed media paintings and watercolours.
